Wanda Soddu

Thank you for visiting my page. I  would like to introduce myself and tell you how I can assist you.

As a member of a regulated health profession, I am registered with the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the British Geriatrics Society. My expertise includes coeliac disease, IBS, advanced FODMAP guidance, and supporting healthy ageing across life stages for diverse ethnic groups.

In my role as a Falls Prevention Dietitian at Guy’s and St Thomas’, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team, and I co-chair the British Dietetic Association’s subgroup for falls prevention.

I’m also certified in motivational interviewing, which I use to empower my patients. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to optimal health and well-being.

From Me To You

As a woman in the 40+ age group who lives with IBS, I understand the unique needs of each woman and the importance of providing comprehensive and evidence-based support. I am driven by the belief that there is still much to learn about women’s bodies and the impact of hormones on our well-being. My goal is to empower women to feel comfortable in their own bodies and make informed decisions that improve their long-term health.

Food holds a special connection for all of us. While we may have good and bad days with our eating habits, food is not only crucial for sustaining life but also an opportunity for enjoyment and nourishment. My passion lies in helping individuals to achieve the benefits of good health without compromising the pleasure that food brings—a fundamental aspect of our lives.

Our Ethos

The ethos of the services offered is nutritional expertise to help with your health concerns but equally helping to find a way of drawing pleasure from eating, aka building a long lasting good relationship.

Whether you are an omnivore, a vegetarian or a vegan, a personalised diet can help you achieve and maintain optimum health and wellness, such as the low FODMAP diet.

Nourishment

Nourishment

In our food choices we should not remain oblivious of the fact that over two thirds of diseases in Europe (in England nearly 40%, NHS England 2019) are preventable, therefore food choice and lifestyle factors driven.

There is no ‘one fit all’ option, therefore we believe it’s important to unpick your difficulties, taking into consideration both your physical health and mental well-being: the whole lifestyle. The aim is to find a right for you (age and current health status and not omitting other life factors) nourishment away from unhelpful but often damaging ‘diet culture’.

It is generally agreed that it is best to be able to cook from scratch as often as possible. I aim to open the possibility of finding enjoyment in cooking from scratch by building your knowledge in simple bitesize tips and guidance. I recognise, however, sometimes the food needs to fit into your existing busy life schedule. In the process of benefiting your health long term, I will help you to understand how to look at food when eating out or opting for ready-made so that you make the best choice for you.

The foundation of the service offered is a deep consideration of the health needs of those individuals while respecting culturally appropriate choices. This is in the view of making changes that are meaningful to an individual with or without existing health conditions. Providing clinically and always evidence based, appropriate support to manage and existing conditions and increase longevity.

Pleasure

Pleasure In Eating

The health recommendations are to have plenty of vegetables and fruit of different colours, as each has different health benefits. We are keen to help you reframe your perception of food so that you find taste and visual elation without compromising health aspects. In this new way you will find satisfaction in every dish and every mouthful, from knowing that what you eat is right for strength and vitality.

Food is an essential necessity for human existence; however, the aim is to show our patients/clients we can eat well for health and take care of our senses at the same time for the enjoyment of your food, too.

Whatever the dietary needs you may be thinking of, we want to guide you in finding your perfect, sustainable eating, which provides you with health benefits but aids you in finding enjoyment in eating on your own and with others: repairing your relationship with food, if you will.

To show you that the world of food is a delicious way to maintain good personal and planetary health, whilst discovering flavoursome ways of eating.

My mission is to help you achieve changes which you will feel comfortable enough with, so you would want to maintain those for the rest of your life.

Planet

Sustainable Planet

The health of our planet, whether we realise it or it is still perplexing us, has an impact on our personal health.

When you do something good for yourself it brings on your satisfaction and translates into your wellbeing. It is a win-win for all when we look after the planet, which we are merely borrowing from the next generations, through meaningful long-life changes to what we eat, how we eat, how we shop and more.

Addressing any health concerns are foremost important in our practice!

We are looking, however (where clinically appropriate), at ways of improving the diet for health and the planet; showing how to make even those smallest but achievable changes, which will benefit personal health and the planet’s health.

I offer workable, high-calibre, evidence-based solutions for your health condition. My nutritional solutions help people lead life to the full, while making a meaningful contribution to combating climate change.
